Personality Test

See if our program fits your personality!

Go and check it out!

We understand that the decision for a four-year University of Applied Science program can be a challenge; even deciding on visiting us for an Open Doors can be a step. How do you know if a school fits your needs and preferences? Will you fit in? Will you learn what you want to learn? Is it worth your time and investment?

Team Academy is a school for young entrepreneurs, for those who want to develop their personal and business skills, and for students who want to start their business while traveling and going to school at the same time.
You might not consider yourself this type of student, or you do, but you also want to check if you already have some skills.

In order to make this step easier, we've developed an online test and a flowchart including a few short questions which will help you find out if you have the entrepreneurial spirit and if you would fit in among the other entrepreneurs at Team Academy Amsterdam.

Have fun and hope to see you soon at Team Academy Amsterdam!

An impression of life at Team Academy

Team Academy is a practical education where students divide their time between learning, studying, traveling and building their own business. Students spend less time at school than in a traditional university because they are either traveling to other countries, or finding clients, suppliers, collaborators, and investors for their businesses. Nevertheless, students do spend part of their week in our Amsterdam location. As a Team Academy student you’ll participate in workshops, team sessions, coaching and mentoring session in this location. You’ll have access to our co-working space and shared kitchen. Many of our students use the space like an office, scheduling meetings with team-mates, eating meals together, working individually, and competing in our ongoing Team Academy ping-pong tournament.

Visitors and prospective students have described our location as "a productive, but relaxed atmosphere", "full of energy", and “compact, and perfect for small, focussed groups”. One student even described it as "a personal, warm place that gives you feeling of home in combination with school". This is exactly how we want Team Academy to be, we’re proud of our location in Bos en Lommer and continue to add new aspects, improving it every month together with our students.

Since the Team Academy space will be such an important part of your study we think you should experience the location and see if you think it’s the kind of place you’re looking for. Of course, we would prefer for you to see our location in person, but with the current health situation this has been made difficult.

Please find an impression of the space below, and once the current situation has ended we would love to welcome you here in person!

We do our best to select individuals who fit our unique approach to learning, who will benefit most from Team Academy's unique environment. Our application process allows us to get to know who you are, and for you to discover if Team Academy is the best place to prepare you for your entrepreneurial future.

Application Process

Phase One

The journey starts by filling out the registration form below. This allows us to check if you have the right preparatory education to join Team Academy. After we’ve reviewed your application form, we like you to join one of our (also online) Open Doors, where you learn about our principles, the learning process, and the curriculum. We'll also give you an (online) tour through the school and students will describe their business and project to you.

Once you've been to an Open Doors, you'll normally receive an invitation to be our student for the day. However, due to the Corona outbreak, you'll receive an invitation to a 1:1 online meeting with our business mentor Marc Ernst. Together you can discuss ideas, opportunities, or current projects/businesses.

Phase Two

After you've gotten to know us, we want to get to know you. During phase two of the application process we'll ask for a number of documents where you can tell us who you are, where you're at now, and what your goals are and how Team Academy can help you achieve them. Once these documents are approved, you will be scheduled for a final interview with a member of the management team to determine if you'll be a good fit for Team Academy and the team we're putting together for the upcoming academic year.

Code of Conduct: language policy

Code of Conduct: language policy

In the application for accreditation in March 2015, the board of Stichting Schoolvision, acting as Rechtspersoon Hoger Onderwijs, stated that the full program of the Bachelor Business Administration Entrepreneurship would be offered in English. This has been confirmed in the decision of the Nederlands Vlaamse Accreditatie Organisatie to grant accreditation dated 11 May 2015.

As article 7.2 of the Wet Hoger Onderwijs en Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek states that all higher education in the Netherlands, including the exams, is to be offered in Dutch, this decision needs further explanation.

Article 7.2c of the Wet Hoger Onderwijs en Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek states that it is possible to offer a full study program in a language other than Dutch if the nationality of the students participating in the program makes this necessary. As the Bachelor Business Administration Entrepreneurship is specifically designed to offer students an international entrepreneurial experience, a part of the student population consists of international students. With every re accreditation the board of Stichting Schoolvsion will investigate and debate whether the ambition of always having international students participating in the program and therefor offering all education in English is still valid.

To comply with article 1.3.5 of the Wet Hoger Onderwijs en Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek stating that all institutes in higher education in the Netherlands have the obligation to improve knowledge and usage of the Dutch language, a Dutch course is an obligatory part of the curriculum for all first year students with a Dutch high school diploma.

This code of conduct has been adopted by the board of Stichting Schoolvision on 1 April 2019.

Code of Conduct

Code of Conduct

Team Academy Amsterdam/Stichting Schoolvision is compliant with the Code of Conduct and Regulations for Higher Education in the Netherlands. For more information about the code of conduct, please visit this link. For information about petitions in relation to the code of conduct please refer to section four of the rules and regulations in this document.

You can find a detailed overview of the internal Team Academy/Stichting Schoolvision procedures below:

GUIDED SELF-ORGANIZED LEARNING: PROCEDURES FOR A SAFE FLIGHT

The metaphor of creating a safe flight for the team (and the team coach) in the flying rocket leads us to the analogy of flight safety procedures. The most important part of these procedures is pre-planned and laid down in manuals: the Education and Examination Regulations (EER), the curriculum planning, the module descriptions and the Educational Handbook. These manuals are available on Google Classroom for our current students. For prospective students, feel free to contact us via info@teamacademy.nl if you wish to see these manuals.

Coping with incidents and situations
In team entrepreneurial educational practice not every flight goes according to the flight plan and the procedures. In the case of Team Academy we created some ‘procedures for (un)expected situations. The possibilities and the related ‘institutions to be addressed/procedures’ are summed up:

  1. questions, remarks, feedback, needs for clarification on planning and curriculum:
  • the documents on curriculum, planning and related subjects can be found on Google Classroom;
  • your coach is (mostly) able to answer questions. If necessary, the answer is sought by consulting the Program Manager of a Lab (responsible for the curriculum planning).
  1. questions, remarks, feedback, needs for clarification on team learning, the team process, team organization/results, the relation between theory & practice, team entrepreneurship, the playing field and the team process:
  • step 1: the team, using the information on Google Classroom;
  • step 2: the team coach, clarifying and, when necessary, connecting to coordinator for Team Performance (a member of the Curriculum Team) or staff.
  1. questions, remarks, feedback on substantiation assignments:
  • step 1: the field expert of team coach (dependent of the subject)
  • step 2: when the answer is not clear or unsatisfactory, the team entrepreneur can:
    – consult the team coach
    – contact the Examinations Board through an e-mail to the secretary of the Examinations Board
  • step 3: when there is still no satisfying solution: filing an official ‘objection’ to the Examinations Board through the secretary. The procedure on how to do this is to be found on Google Classroom.
  1. in case of an unsatisfactory or incorrect decision of the Examinations Board
  • step 1: request explanation (consult your team coach);
  • step 2: file an appeal to the Board of Appeals for Examinations of Team Academy. The procedure on how to do this is to be found on Google Classroom.
  1. in case of an unsatisfactory or incorrect decision of the Board of Appeals for Examinations:
  • step 1: ask for explanation (consult your team coach);
  • step 2: file an appeal to the National Commission for Appeals Higher Education (seek the advice of the secretary of the Board of Appeals for Examinations).
  1. questions, remarks, feedback, needs for clarification on Team Academy:
  • consult your team coach;
  • address the relevant staff member (this can often be done by just asking for ‘a moment to sit down’);
  • file a formal complaint to Team Academy management.
  1. situations with inappropriate behavior, (sexual) harassment and other situations you would like to consult on confidentially:
  • the special trust counsellor: details to be found on Google Classroom.
