Schools Out! Now What?

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]

At Team Academy we’re going on as planned, no workshops, team-sessions or assessments have been cancelled, we’ve just moved everything to online. However, being stuck studying at home, learning online can provide some challenges. To help out all the students now stuck at home we’ve put together a few tips on how to get the most out of your isolation education. I no particular order, here they are:

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

1. Get Dressed
Getting dressed, as you would when you go to school, sends a signal to your brain that it’s time to work. It helps you maintain a routine and gets you in the right frame of mind.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

2. Make a schedule
Plan your day ahead of time. Even though you’re saving time traveling, there are more distractions so a schedule will help you stay focussed and on track. It doesn’t need to be complicated, stickies notes or a sheet of paper will work as well as more technological solutions.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

3. Develop a routine
A routine is just productive behaviour turned into a habit. Routines help you make effective decisions by removing the need for you to even decide. Try to start by going to bed and waking up at the same time every day, then build from there.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

4. Plan when you’re going to be productive (and plan when you’re going to relax)
Figure out when you’re most focussed during the day and plan the biggest tasks in that time slot. You can plan easier things afterwards. Remember to also take time to rest and relax during the day.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

5. Make a workspace for yourself
Create a separate space just for studying and working. It’ll send a signal to your brain to focus on work when you’re in that space. However, if you’re struggling to focus switching to a different space can be a great solution.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

6. Connect intentionally
Now that you’re seeing others less often, taking the time to connect with people intentionally gives you your dose of socializing and also means you help others stay connected. Call your classmates, check-in on them.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

7. Plan your procrastinations
There are more distractions at home, so rather than trying to avoid distraction come up with some productive procrastinations – like watching youtube videos related to a class, allow yourself to take breaks and use these “procrastinations” to give your brain a rest.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

8. Take exercise/dance party breaks
If you’re struggling to focus or get things done, take 10 minutes, doing some pushups or put your favourite dance track on and get some energy out.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]9. Stay positive
Being stuck at home all day can be draining, and before you realize it you’re tired and frustrated. if you notice yourself getting moody unexpectedly take a break, go outside, have a nap, meditate. There are a lot of things happening in the world at the moment and they may be causing you stress even though you’re not aware of if so be kind to yourself and stay happy, healthy and positive.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Interesting in learning more about Team Academy?
